The 7-day incidence rises continuously, the district approaches the threshold value to "dark red".

The mask requirement also in elementary schools remains, "also because we have chains of infection within schools", says District Administrator Stefan Löwl.

The district office evaluated the routes of infection.

Most people get infected in the same household.

District - First the good news: Fortunately, the health of the infected people is mostly good, often even asymptomatic, as the district office explains in a press release.

However, there are always more difficult processes.

According to a spokeswoman for the Helios Amper clinics, there were six Covid 19 patients in the clinic yesterday at 1 p.m., one of whom was ventilated in the intensive care unit.

The Corona situation is still very dynamic and extremely tense, according to Wolfgang Reichelt, spokesman for the district office: "One third of the infections can no longer be traced." Despite the tightening of measures last weekend, the number of positive SARS-CoV- 2 people tested in the Dachau district.

The so-called 7-day incidence is currently 81.34.

24 new infections were reported in the district yesterday.

Another fellow citizen with a confirmed Covid-19 infection unfortunately died on Friday, which increases the number of district citizens who died in connection with Corona to 38.

An evaluation according to the exposure location for new infections in the last few days shows the following infection routes:

■

eight infections at work

■

four infections in one language course

■

46 infections in the same household

■

four infections through family visits

■

six infections at three private celebrations

■

four infections with private contacts

■

five infections in schools (one in physical education, four within the respective class; however, there is still no mask requirement on site)

■

an infection in a daycare center

■

an infection in a hospital (in another district)

■

eleven infections among travelers returning (Romania, Kosovo, Bosnia, Italy, USA, Spain, Albania)

■

42 infections cannot be determined

■

22 cases (from today) are still being processed

Around 15 percent of new infections were found in people under the age of 18.

Overall, people in the district between the ages of one year and three months and up to 87 years are affected.

The mask requirement for elementary school students on the square, which has also been in effect in the district since last Monday, has led to violent reactions from parents who are calling for an immediate lifting at the elementary schools in Dachau (we reported).

However, due to the increasing number of infections and proven chains of infection also in elementary schools, according to District Administrator Löwl, the legally standardized exceptions in the district are not available.

There was also a “counter-movement” from parents who vehemently advocated maintaining face-to-face teaching.

According to Reichelt, feedback from the schools shows that the mask is worn in a disciplined and consistent manner and that no health damage is to be feared.

This was also confirmed by the medical experts invited by Löwlgstern to talk to concerned parents of the “Monte Dachau Parents' Movement”.

All experts currently see no room to advocate an exception to the requirement to wear a mask in class.

The district office is also examining the need to make mask compulsory in public places such as train stations and shopping streets.

Due to the various questions, the system was overloaded again and again on the district office's citizen phone, which had been occupied since Monday.

The district office apologizes and will continue to increase the number of staff on the citizen hotline.

From Monday, the health department will be supported for the first time by six soldiers from the Bundeswehr to strengthen the contact tracing team in order to ensure the significantly increased number of cases and the associated contact investigations as well as the subsequent contact person care.
