Sweida-Sana
The total sums transferred from the Syrian Company for the Processing of Grapes in Sweida to the account of the Farmers' Union at the Commercial Bank to be disbursed to farmers in exchange for the prices of grapes delivered to the company for the current season amounted to 675 million pounds to date.
In a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin, the General Manager of the company, Engineer Fadi Choucair, indicated that a large part of the sums owed to farmers were disbursed from the prices of grapes, while about 100 million pounds remained, which will be transferred successively over the coming weeks.
He added that the price of one kilo of juicy white grapes reached 250 pounds and black 300 pounds, after including the specified prices with the support provided by the Authority for Support and Development of Local Production and Exports.
The Syrian Company for the Processing of Grapes in Sweida, a week ago, completed the marketing of grapes from farmers, as the quantities delivered to them reached about 3253 tons.
