The Freising fire brigade was able to put out a fire in a restaurant on Landshuter Strasse just in time.
Freising - Just in time, the Freising fire brigade was able to extinguish a fire in a restaurant on Landshuter Straße on Monday evening before major damage would have occurred.
As fire department press spokesman Florian Wöhrl reports, an employee of the restaurant noticed a burning smell and strong smoke development in an adjoining building at around 10 p.m. and immediately alerted the rescue workers.
Six vehicles with a crew of 31 people moved out of the Freising main fire station.
The procedure
As it turned out, the electrical distribution in a storage room had caught fire.
"By the time the first fire engine arrived, the flames had already spread to some of the items stored in the room," reports Wöhrl: "Two teams proceeded under breathing protection and extinguished the fire as it was developing.
The measures
At the same time, the fire brigade initiated extensive measures “to prevent smoke from spreading in the building”.
A mobile smoke trap and two high-performance fans were used.
While, according to Florian Wöhrl, “fire out” could be reported just a few minutes later, the ventilation measures and control of the rest of the building lasted until shortly before midnight.
Fortunately, there were no injuries.
So far there is no reliable information about the damage caused.
"The cause of the fire is a technical defect in the electrical system," says the FFW press report.
