“Following the national confinement decided by the President of the Republic in the context of the fight against Covid-19, the Vendée Globe Village will be closed to the public from Friday October 30 inclusive.
The start of the Vendée Globe will take place as planned on November 8 at 1:02 pm behind closed doors, without an audience, ”the organization announced in a press release.
Before continuing: "The Vendée Globe 2020-2021 will remain as a symbol, that of our desire to continue living despite the difficulties our country is going through and in scrupulous respect for the health rules set by the State."
