After several weeks of medical treatment, Shira Isakov, whose husband, Aviad Moshe, tried to murder her on New Year's Eve at their home in Mitzpe Ramon, was released today (Thursday) from Soroka Medical Center.

Shira was released from the hospital after about a month and a half of hospitalization, to continue rehabilitation close to her parents' home, out of a desire and need to be close to her son and on the recommendation of professionals.

In a very exciting meeting that took place in the ward, the doctors and staff who treated her throughout her hospitalization said goodbye to her, strengthened her and wished her success in her future endeavors.

Shira and her family said goodbye in tears to the ward staff.

Upon discharge from the hospital, Shira said: "Today I am released, going out into a new life. I have a long way to go until I finish the whole medical process but I am forward-looking, optimistic and stronger than ever. I want to thank all the medical staff of Soroka Hospital who treated me professionally "Dedication and humanity."

Violent assault and prolonged recovery

Shira Isakov was evacuated to the trauma room in Soroka from Mitzpe Ramon on New Year's Eve.

She arrived in a critical condition suffering from multiple systemic injuries and stab wounds to various parts of her body, after being stabbed with a knife and beaten with a rolling pin.

After stabilizing her condition in the trauma room she was rushed to an operating room where she underwent surgery for long hours.

At the end of the lengthy surgery she was transferred to a general intensive care unit.

During the hospitalization, she underwent a series of surgeries and was treated by a multi-professional team that includes: general surgeons, heart and chest surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, plastic surgeons, eyes and anesthetists.

After recovery in the general intensive care unit, she was transferred to the surgical ward and later began a rehabilitation procedure in the hospital's rehabilitation ward, during which she was treated by multidisciplinary staff in the ward: specialists in rehabilitation, nurses, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social services, communication clinician.

Three weeks ago, the police filed an indictment against Iscove's husband, Aviad Moshe, who is suspected of attempting to murder his wife, 31, on New Year's Eve last night at their home in Mitzpe Ramon.

Moshe, 45, is charged in the indictment with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

According to the indictment, filed through Attorney Ira Weiman-Cricon of the Southern District Attorney's Office in the Be'er Sheva District Court, the shocking incident took place amid an argument that developed between the couple on the eve of the holiday after Shira expressed her desire to divorce and spend the holiday with their toddler son. So Moshe brutally attacked her, numerous times, using a wooden rolling pin she used to make challah for the holiday, and strangled her. Blade about 10 cm long.
