The Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this Thursday in a statement that it will not invite former President Evo Morales to the acts of transmission of command on November 8, considering him "hostile to the Bolivian democratic process."

He also maintains that "their presence in the country will generate social and political tension."

The statement says that the Foreign Ministry will not invite the questioned president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, since the interim government of Jeanine Áñez recognizes the presidency of Juan Guaidó.

The Foreign Ministry acknowledged that President-elect Luis Arce, host of these formal acts, expressed his desire to invite both Morales and Maduro.

He also explained that the role of that ministry "in acts of transmission of command is formal and works together with a commission of the elected government to send invitations to foreign heads of State and Government."

CNN is trying to reach representatives of Arce to find out their position on the Chancellery's announcement.

On Tuesday in an interview with Red Uno Bolivia, a station affiliated with CNN, Foreign Minister Karen Longaric had said that the invitation would be extended to Morales and Maduro.

Evo Morales' team announced his return date

This Wednesday, Evo Morales' press team confirmed that he will return to his country on November 9.

The former president, who resigned from office in November 2019, has been in Argentina since December of that year as a refugee.

The interim government authorized an equivalent budget of just over US $ 362,000 to finance expenses related to the ceremony.

This Thursday the Minister of the Presidency, Yerko Núñez, met with delegates from the Movement to Socialism (MAS) to comply with the transition process.

In a statement they reported that the meeting was "cordial and fraternal dialogue."

And that the delivery of the documentation for each ministry was decided between November 3 and 6, according to an established schedule.
