Cathay Pacific Airways recently announced a reorganization, including the cut of 5,300 employees in Hong Kong. Cathay Dragon Airways ceased operations with immediate effect.

At present, the gathering restriction order is still continuing, and the union said it has already applied for paperwork.
She said that the current situation is not good for employees, and the company is like "poor, but we still have to fight hard, and reiterated that the request to postpone the contract period and the new contract is only a short-term.
She is also worried that this incident will set a precedent. Once the job protection plan ends next month, other companies will follow Cathay Pacific's approach.
Cathay Pacific said earlier that there are already enough employees to sign new contracts. Wang Simin said the union does not have the numbers.
In addition, during the meeting with the Labour Department yesterday, the union expressed the staff’s doubts to the Labour Department and hoped that the Labour Department would arrange a tripartite meeting. However, Cathay Pacific later clarified that it did not arrange a tripartite meeting.
She said that she does not plan to see the management again and will communicate with the company via email.
