In Argentina, the chocotorta is the passion of the crowds.
And now it also stands out in the world.
At least that is how it was demonstrated in an international ranking, where it
was ranked first among the best desserts in the world.
The Taste Atlas site, which compiles the typical foods of all the countries of the world, regularly produces lists with the dishes that stand out locally, regionally and globally in each category.
This year, 6 Argentine dishes were ranked among the most popular in South America:
barbecue, alfajor, milanesa, asado, dulce de leche and chimichurri.
The Peruvian ceviche and the Brazilian churrasco, in that case, surpassed the national flavors.
But now the chocotorta has established itself with
an average of 4.7 stars out of 5
among the desserts voted worldwide.
"This no-bake chocolate cake was influenced by Italian cuisine and the famous tiramisu," details the Taste Atlas staff description, debatable for Argentines.

"It is made with three Argentine ingredients: chocolate cookies, dulche de leche (sic) and cream cheese. The cookies are softened with laws and stacked in layers with a combination of cream cheese and dulce de leche. The shapes may vary and the cookies can be soaked in chocolate milk, coffee or coffee liqueur. The most common theory about its origin is that it was invented as part of a marketing campaign designed to promote Chocolinas cookies, and the recipe was included in the package ", continues the presentation of Taste Atlas.
Despite having been questioned by prestigious references of Argentine pastry such as Osvaldo Gross, the chocotorta is indisputably a local dessert, which stands out among the cakes created in Argentina for the simplicity of its preparation.
