On the second attempt he went through.

Meeting documents are posted online, but only after they have been approved.

Geretsried -

With his first application, the new FDP city councilor Edmund Häner caused a relatively heated discussion in the October meeting - and finally withdrew the application.

The revised version was adopted by the city council on Tuesday without further comment on the subject.

Accordingly, the administration will in future make certain documents from city council meetings available on the Internet after a certain period of time.

"I think we are moving in the direction of more transparency for citizens, but that suffers due to legal requirements," said Häner at the meeting.

The audience seats were largely empty that late afternoon.

Only one citizen - Lena Gneist, who ran this year in the local elections on the city council list of the Greens - followed the debate in the council chamber.

With a sign she demanded: "Citizens ¼ hour again now in Geretsried".

In May, the new city council removed the possibility of citizens to ask questions about the topics discussed at the end of a city council meeting from the rules of procedure.

The reason was the information from the legal supervisory authority of the district office that it was inadmissible for non-members of the city council to express their views in a meeting.

The faction of the Geretsried list had tried in vain to find an alternative.

Now it was Edmund Häner who wanted to better involve the citizens in matters.

As the only FDP city council, the successor of the former mayoral candidate Larry Terwey forms a parliamentary group with the free voters.

Specifically, Häner requested that all information that is marked as public in the so-called Council Information System (Allris) for city councils, i.e. agendas, resolutions and presentations, from city council meetings, committees and working groups, should be made available in the city's citizen information system.

This should happen no later than the fourth working day after their respective approval.

For publication, approval must be obtained from the city administration and external parties and data protection must be observed.

Non-public resolutions and information after their publication should also be made available.

In addition, Häner demands that the citizen information system should be easily accessible on the city's website.

For example, through a separate tile in the main menu.

Access and user behavior should be analyzed anonymously for traceability and to demonstrate the benefit.

Häner: "Due to their scope, the contents of the proposal should be implemented in the rules of procedure of the city council."

The decision was made unanimously.
