Hundreds of people on Thursday in Burimari, Bangladesh, lynched a man they accused of desecrating the Koran, beating him to death before burning his body, police said.
The mob grabbed two men who were in custody for their protection after being accused of stepping on a Quran in the main mosque in the town near the border with India, the report said. police.

The second man, injured, managed to escape.
More than 1,000 people stormed a municipal office where the two men were detained.
