MLS LA Galaxy fires Guillermo Barros Schelotto

Through a statement, the Los Angeles franchise announced the departure of the Argentine coach along with his entire work team.

The LA Galaxy has removed Guillermo Barros Schelotto as the club's coach due to the poor results

that, thus far, have this franchise in last place in the Western Conference in Major League Soccer.

The announcement was made this Thursday through a statement issued by the team itself, where they also anticipate that Dominic Kinnear will serve as interim technical director until the end of the 2020 season.

Barros Schelotto leaves the Los Angeles Galaxy with a record of 21 wins, 26 losses and six draws.

In addition to Guillermo's departure, technical assistants Gustavo Barros Schelotto and Ariel Pereyra, as well as goalkeeping coach Juan José Romero and physical trainer Javier Valdecantos, also leave their posts with immediate effect.

Dennis te Kloese, general manager of LA Galaxy took responsibility for the club's bad moment and said that based on the results, they have decided to fire Barros Schelotto.

“Based on the results, we have decided to go in a different direction (…) LA Galaxy is a club that is based on winning on the court and being representative of the champion mentality expected of teams in the city of Los Angeles.

As a club, we have a collective responsibility and we must all share the blame for the club's current situation.

I take responsibility for the poor results and I think we can find the right path for this team and our club.

Guillermo, with a probable future in Brazil

In recent days, the rumor that pointed to the departure of Guillermo Barros Schelotto from MLS to face a new challenge in the Brazilian league, specifically with Palmeiras, gained strength.

At the time, the Argentine coach was questioned about it and said that he had not had any contact with Palmeiras, although perhaps the situation will take a turn soon.
