2020-10-30T18:14:48.903Z

The world number 28 will not participate in the next Master 1000 in Paris and therefore remains there for 2020.

French tennis player Benoît Paire announced on Twitter on Friday his package for the Masters 1000 Paris-Bercy, which begins Monday, and the end of his 2020 season. "End of season #NoBercy", wrote the 28th player in the world, N.2 French in the ATP ranking.

After reaching the final of the Auckland tournament in January, Paire went on a string of eliminations in the 1st or 2nd round earlier in the year.

His season then came to a halt for six months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Returning to the courts in August, Paire tested positive for Covid-19 during the US Open, eliminated from entering Rome and then had to retire in the first round of the Hamburg tournament.

He was only allowed to participate in Roland-Garros at the last minute.

Thursday, he was eliminated as soon as he entered the Astana tournament.

The Pair package follows those of world No.1 Novak Djokovic and French No.1 Gaël Monfils, who announced the end of his season on Tuesday.
