Agriculture: 65 thousand tons of pistachio production for this season .. Hama is in the first place

The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform announced that the pistachio harvest operations for this season have ended and the total production amounted to 65,159 tons, from 7.7 million fruit trees, including about 1.1 million watering trees and 6.6 million rain-fed trees.

The director of the pistachio office in the ministry, Eng. Hassan Ibrahim, stated to SANA that the governorate of Hama occupied the first place in production with about 31,877 tons, followed by Idlib with about 16,276 tons, then Aleppo with a production of 15,372 tons, and the remaining production is distributed between the governorates of Homs, As-Suwayda and Rural Damascus.

Ibrahim confirmed that 1449 tons have been exported so far from the production of this season, including 684 tons "heart of pistachios", 162 tons "pistachios with its shell" and 593 tons "green fresh", indicating that the prices of the crop ranged between 3500 and 8000 pounds per kilo.

The one at the end of the season for fresh green and light bone for toasters from 11,000 to 17,000 pounds per kilo, ice cream from 9,000 to 13,000 pounds, and ripe pink from 7,000 to 11,000 pounds.

Ibrahim indicated that the production of each one kilogram of the heart of pistachios, the first type of green section, needs 7 kilograms of fresh pistachios in the Aged stage before ripening, while the production of each one kilogram of the heart of pistachios yellowish section needs 5 kilograms of ripe milky pistachios.
