He is suspected of having posted a photo of the body of one of the 60-year-old victims on a forum on the Jeuxvideo.com website.

A man was taken into police custody on Friday, October 30 for posting a photo of one of the three victims of the fatal attack in the Nice basilica, said the Paris prosecutor's office, which opened an investigation.

He is suspected of being behind the publication of the photo on a forum on the Jeuxvideo.com website, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The suspect has been questioned since Friday at the end of the afternoon in the premises of the brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person (BRDP), said the prosecution, without giving details on his profile.

An investigation was opened for "dissemination of a violent message", added the prosecution.

The photo of the 60-year-old woman, who suffered a deep throat cut, close to beheading, was posted on social networks and on several websites.

The Pharos platform, responsible for detecting illegal online content, has reported several broadcasts of this macabre cliché.

In addition to this woman, the assailant also slaughtered the sacristan of the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption basilica in Nice, Vincent Loquès, father of two daughters, who would have been 55 years old on Friday.

The third victim, a Brazilian mother of three, Simone Barreto Silva, 44, who was repeatedly affected, died in a restaurant where she had taken refuge.

The perpetrator, a 21-year-old Tunisian, Brahim Issaoui, was stopped by the police who shot him several times.

Seriously injured, he was still hospitalized on Friday with a vital prognosis.
