The Bavarian cabinet with Prime Minister Markus Söder has decided on a corona vaccine concept.
The implementation will probably not be easy.
Once a
vaccine
against
Sars-CoV-2 is
approved, the demand will be high.
Bavaria is
currently
planning to implement the
corona vaccination
with
100 million euros
.
Prime Minister
Markus Söder (CSU)
would like to
give priority
to
risk patients
.
Munich - While the number of infections is increasing daily, the whole world is hoping that a
vaccine
* against the
coronavirus
* will
soon
be used.
There
should be no
compulsory vaccination
.
In spite of this, the vaccine will probably not be available in sufficient quantities from the outset for all who want to protect themselves voluntarily.
The Bavarian cabinet has therefore decided on a vaccination concept.
For the time being,
100 million euros
are available for implementation.
Research
is currently being carried out at high pressure
on almost
200
possible corona vaccines worldwide, including the projects of the German companies
Biontech
and
CureVac
.
Biontech's active ingredient is already in the final phase of
clinical testing
- as one of around a dozen candidates.
Nevertheless, the
Federal
Ministry of
Health
officially
expects
a usable vaccine at the beginning of next year at the earliest.
It is also still open how long vaccination protection lasts and whether it only protects against a severe course * or against transmission.

Corona in Bavaria: Söder (CSU) presents schedule for vaccination
Either way - the demand will be great.
And when the time comes, no time should be wasted.
The state government is therefore already setting priorities.
There is a
“clear vaccination hierarchy”
for Bavaria
, says
Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU *)
.
According to this, classic
risk patients
- i.e. old people, the chronically ill, residents of old people's and nursing homes and facilities for the disabled -
should be vaccinated first
.
Elderly people in particular pose a particular challenge in vaccination research. As their
immune system is
already weaker than it was in younger years, experts consider it likely that they will need a larger amount of vaccine.
In addition,
occupational groups
that
are particularly
at risk of
infection should be present
in the first wave of vaccinations - in particular medical and nursing staff.
The same applies to those who work in the police, fire brigade or in the health sector in sensitive areas of the critical infrastructure.
Even those who are at high risk due to cramped living conditions should be among the first to be protected.
. @ Markus_Soeder is hoping for the first approved vaccines at the end of this, beginning of next year.

Coronavirus in Bavaria: Centers for vaccine a "logistical challenge"
In order to be able to vaccinate all these people quickly and efficiently, the state government is planning to set up
vaccination centers
in Bavaria, which should be comparable to today's test centers.
“A logistical challenge,”
says Health Minister
Melanie Huml (CSU)
.
Ultra-low freezers
must be
used
for storage temperatures of minus 70 degrees
.
In addition,
mobile vaccination teams
are
to be set up in all rural districts and urban districts
, which, for example, vaccinate entire old people's and nursing homes or visit
disabled
people at home.
When the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance
Physicians was
first asked in
1851, doctors
agreed to carry out the vaccinations in the centers or mobile teams.
The vaccination commission at the
Robert Koch Institute
* expects that a comprehensive vaccination of the population will take until 2022.
Therefore, a noticeable change in the
infection process
* will not occur immediately, said the virologist
Thomas Mertens
.
"If you can vaccinate 100,000 people a day, and that is a challenge, you need 150 days to vaccinate 15 million people."
