The patient’s working place is on the 32nd floor of the West Wing of Shun Tak Center. There are five companies in total, including the Hong Kong Island Office of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The whole building is owned by the Liaison Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the neighbourhood refers to the dormitory.

Shun Tak Centre West Wing issued confirmation notice

Zhang Zhujun, Director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, at today’s press conference on the epidemic, confirmed case #5321 is a 44-year-old man, a civilian, working in the West Wing of Shun Tak Centre, Sheung Wan, with about 40 colleagues. He lives in North Point. 10-16 Tsinghua Street.

Zhang pointed out that his work organization will regularly conduct new coronavirus tests for employees, which are carried out on the 9th and 28th of this month. The patient tested positive on the 28th and he became ill on Tuesday (27th).

The Shun Tak Center Management Office issued a notice stating that a person was diagnosed on the 32nd floor of the West Wing.

The reporter went upstairs to inspect and found that there were five companies on the floor, as well as the Hong Kong Island Working Department of the Liaison Office of the Central Committee, but there were no signs displayed in the lift lobby and on the 32nd floor.

The iron gate has been dropped in the office, and the reception desk next to it is empty.

Hong Kong Jinjiang Travel Co., Ltd., located on the same floor, operates as usual today. The staff was notified by the management office that a male staff member on the same floor was diagnosed. The last day to work was October 29.

A Jinjiang employee said that no one at his company has been diagnosed, but employees at the same level will share the bathroom, worrying that it will spread the virus.

The employee of Ningxing (Group) Co., Ltd. at the same level also said that no one in the company was infected with the disease and had no idea which unit had a diagnosis.

The man reported that the property was purchased and held by "Xinmin Real Estate".



As for the man's reported address, it was No. 10-16, Tsinghua Street, North Point.

According to the records of the Land Registry, Nos. 10-16, Tsinghua Street, North Point, were purchased by the Central Liaison Office through "Xinmin Real Estate Co., Ltd." in 1987 for 37 million yuan, and they have been held to this day.

When the reporter from "Hong Kong 01" inspected the building from 10 to 16 Tsinghua Street, it was found that there were few people entering and exiting the building. A notice in simplified Chinese characters was posted at the entrance to remind residents to beware of someone following into the building. The entrance and exit of the building were guarded by security guards.

Some neighbours said that the building has been acquired by a Chinese-funded organization and used as a dormitory.
