The Israeli occupation authorities intensify settlement operations in the cities of occupied Jerusalem and Hebron in the West Bank with the aim of Judaizing them, obliterating their Arab Palestinian identity and falsifying its historical features to implement colonial annexation plans with the support of the United States, while the international community remains silent and ignores its obligations towards the Palestinian people with the necessity to implement international legitimacy decisions that confirm the illegality of settlement and demand Stop it.
The Hebron Gate is one of the most important historical gates of the Old City in occupied Jerusalem, and the western entrance to the Jerusalem Citadel is subjected to a fierce Judaization campaign, according to Hassan Khater, director of the International Jerusalem Center, to the SANA reporter, as the occupation is working to change its features within a dangerous scheme that aims to falsify the history, geography and civilization of Jerusalem and obliterate its Christian and Arab Islamic symbols.
Khater explained that, since 2010, the occupation has been rapidly implementing its plans to Judaize the Old City, in addition to the underground excavations, it has transferred its historical and archaeological stones and replaced them with new stones in order to change its cultural façade and obliterate the historical Arab inscriptions and drawings on the facades of its gates and in its alleys and archaeological buildings.
For his part, the coordinator of the People's Committee for Resistance to Settlement and the Apartheid Wall, Salah Al-Khawaja, said that the Judaization scheme targeting the Hebron Gate and the Jerusalem Citadel is a falsification of the civilizational scene in occupied Jerusalem.
He added that the historic Jerusalem wall, which is located in the Old City, extends about 4 kilometers in length and is 10 meters high, and includes 15 gates “subjected to a civilized massacre” by the occupation, which removed all Arab symbols to obliterate the historical identity of Jerusalem, which calls for urgent intervention from the United Nations. For his part, a member of the political bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Talal Abu Zarifa, said that the occupation’s seizure of Palestinian lands, the demolition of their homes, and their displacement shows the full partnership between him and the American administration that is racing against time to implement the colonial annexation plans that the Palestinians are facing and will remain steadfast and steadfast in defense of their land and existence.
