The intention to hold a mass funeral procession in a locality defined as red due to high morbidity, and which is under closure, came up before the abduction.

This raised concerns about widespread infection with the virus, and brought Corona Projector Roni Gamzo, Home Front Command personnel, and a discouraged discourse on Triff to order not to release the body during the day.

The leadership of the Druze community called for the Ministry of Health to follow the instructions, and in a joint obituary issued with the discourse family, they called for not coming to Majdal Shams for the funeral service.

"The incident that took place at Ziv Hospital in Safed is not in the opinion of the community's leadership and the family of the deceased, who had a senior religious status among the community and deserves all respect. The funeral was originally planned to be held this morning," they said.

They added in their announcement that "the spiritual leader of the Druze community, Sheikh Moafek Tarif, reiterates his call for the funeral to be observed and to observe the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, out of respect for the deceased and maintaining public health," adding that the funeral was held in full coordination With the Israel Police, the Home Front Command and the Majdal Shams Local Council.
