The number of new Coronavirus infections in Britain has exceeded one million, amid a sharp increase in deaths, as the country prepares for a general isolation to contain the outbreak of the virus.
Reuters quoted the British Ministry of Health as saying in a statement that 21,915 new infections and 326 deaths from the virus were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 1011,660 cases, while the total number of deaths reached 46,555 cases.
In a related context, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today that he will impose a new re-closure in the country for a full month until the second of next month, as non-essential stores will be closed and gatherings of families and friends canceled, while schools, universities and courts will remain without closure.
In recent weeks, Britain has witnessed sharp rises in the daily Coronavirus infection index, which prompted the country's authorities to impose new isolation restrictions.
