A follow-up to the government's measures to respond to the damages caused by the fires that broke out in Lattakia countryside. And he indicated that the directorate has implemented its plan for the current year related to the roads in which the funds have reached about 750 million Syrian pounds, of which 150 million pounds for building agricultural roads, according to which about 7.5 kilometers and 600 million pounds were implemented for rehabilitation and maintenance of previously implemented roads, indicating that about 1.5 billion Syrian pounds were allocated for rehabilitation Roads for next year will be 500 million liras for agricultural roads.

In his turn, a member of the Executive Office, Engineer Firas Al-Sousi, referred to the existing cooperation between the governorate and the civil and charitable societies and institutions to provide relief and humanitarian aid to the affected people, indicating that so far, about 14 thousand food aid packages have been distributed and others include special aid for those whose homes have been damaged by the fires.

The meeting also dealt with the reality of public services in terms of transportation between Lattakia and Jableh, and city and village centers in the governorate countryside, following up the work of the servants, accountability for violators and non-compliant ones, in addition to the reality of markets, catering bread, the work of accredited people, and the availability of fuel.

For his part, the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, stressed the necessity of daily follow-up of the works that are being implemented with the support of all ministries and the restoration of services to the areas affected by the fires, noting that the list of service projects has been completed to serve these villages at a time when the electricity, communication and water workshops continue their work while strengthening the mechanisms Designated for building agricultural and forestry roads and fire roads.

Minister Makhlouf pointed out to continuing to provide the necessary needs to the affected citizens, which are going fully and in close cooperation between the governorate and the local community, including Al-Areen Foundation and the Syrian Trust for Development.

Minister Makhlouf referred to the celebration held by the ministry tomorrow on the occasion of the National Environment Day, as it will be a program for all governorates to highlight and give importance to cleanliness and attention to the tree and forest, and to rehabilitate all gardens within the administrative units and organizational plans.

Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem explained that most of the projects that were proposed by the people of the villages affected by the fires focused 80 percent on the construction of agricultural roads and sanitation, in addition to the establishment of halls for investment for the Syrian Trade Corporation, pointing out that the affected villages reached 201 villages and communities.
