France: A priest was shot and seriously wounded in the city of Lyon, the assailant fled
According to media reports in the state, the cleric was shot during the closure of his church.
A source close to the case told AFP that the pastor was in critical condition.
The incident comes in the wake of a series of recent terrorist attacks in the country, which have increased security in religious institutions

A priest was shot and seriously injured in a shooting incident in the French city of Lyon, local police announced tonight (Saturday).
The background to the incident is not yet known, and according to media reports in the country the attacker fled.
The incident comes in the wake of a series of recent terrorist attacks in the country, following which security at religious institutions has been stepped up.
