Another report should now clarify the contaminated sites.

In addition, possible alternatives at the current substation location are to be examined.

  • The planned relocation of the Murnau substation met with protest.

  • The Froschhauser are not at all enthusiastic about the project.

Murnau

- Heated up.

This is how Klaus Weingand describes the current mood in Froschhausen.

The 52-year-old lives with his family around 200 meters from the site at the Weindorf landfill site, where Bayernwerk may build a new substation.

A good 30 citizens from Froschhausen and Weindorf appeared on Thursday evening in the culture and conference center, where a special meeting of the local council was held.

“We sent ten back home,” says Weingand.

Because of Corona, only a certain number of visitors are allowed into the hall.

Various criticism

The Froschhauser are alarmed.

"You can't justify that in terms of the landscape," emphasizes Flori Götz from the St. Leonhard guesthouse.

The 40-year-old also points out the tourism and financial aspects.

The Froschhauser considers the project to be "irresponsible".

Because the community urgently needs the money for other projects.

Explanation: The municipality would have to contribute financially to the new building.

Former landfill

And then there is the underground: there used to be a landfill at Froschhauser Berg.

The material slumbers in the ground.

Götz and Weingand warn against building there.

When he was little, half-full paint buckets were thrown in there.

This is what Weingand tells us.

“I can still smell the smell today.” The two Froschhausers also complain that the citizens have not yet been involved.

“When I build something, I talk to the neighbors.” That's how Weingand sees it.

He took the floor at the beginning of the council meeting and said that the Froschhauser local community saw the project “with great skepticism”.

All legal means and ways will be kept open.

He himself fears electric smog as well as noise and odor nuisance.

Neuner's concerns

Local councilor Franz Neuner (CSU) provided support.

The former landfill gives him stomach ache too.

“We're opening Pandora's box.” The spot on Froschhauser Berg is “shaping the landscape and townscape”.

For everyone else, you would say: “You can't do that in an exposed location.

And now you are building a bunker. ”It is imperative to take the citizens with you on a project of this size.

Neuner can understand the fears and concerns.

“It's no wonder that resentment arises.” The CSU council also quoted from an expert report.

And came to the conclusion: “Based on the expert opinion, this location is not suitable.” In his opinion, one should “find another good solution”.

That earned Neuner shouts of bravo and applause from the audience.

Alternatives checked

Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP / Bürgerforum) can understand some of the concerns.

For him, however, the advantages of relocating to the green waste disposal outweigh.

“There is probably no second chance in this century.” In his opinion, it should be “seized”.

Nine high-voltage pylons would disappear from the place according to his representation, the quality of life would improve significantly in some streets.

Mayor Beuting also highlighted the development potential.

“It is important to look at the big picture.” He does not consider it appropriate to discuss according to the St. Florians principle.

The community investigated alternative locations in the east of Murnau.

But, according to Beuting, they turned out to be unworkable for various reasons.

Pros and cons

Welf Probst (Free Voters) is also a proponent.

He spoke of a "chance of the century" and a "milestone" for the development of Murnau.

"Former councilors dreamed of it," emphasized Michael Manlik (ÖDP / Bürgerforum).

A building at the place mentioned would indeed result in an “unattractive picture” for the Froschhauser.

But ultimately that would be "nothing more than a huge barn".

The enclosed building would be around 45 meters long, 17 meters wide and eleven meters high.

Rejection came from Josef Bierling (CSU).

“The location is impossible for me.

We're opening a barrel there.

How should we finance this? "

Another expert opinion

The provisional end of the song: the councils unanimously approved a proposal for a resolution that had been formulated across the parliamentary groups prior to the meeting.

The main points: The municipal council is generally positive about relocating the substation.

An additional report is to be drawn up regarding the contaminated sites at the planned location.

The administration collects information on possible alternatives at the previous location of the substation.

The municipal council will be informed promptly and comprehensively every two weeks until the end of the negotiations.

Before a contract is signed, the drafts must be submitted to the municipal council, including detailed planning documents and cost statements.

The municipality publishes all publicly available information, including existing reports on possible contaminated sites on the former landfill, centrally on its website.

A central contact person in the administration will be named for questions from citizens.
