Following the abduction of Sheikh Halabi's body from Ziv Hospital in Safed, the district commander decided to open an investigation into the exceptional circumstances.

The body was handed over to members of the community by hospital staff, who transferred it to the People's House in Majdal Shams.
It was also reported that the commander of the Northern District ordered that the circumstances of the delivery of the body be investigated at an unspecified date, and that a comprehensive investigation be conducted into the situation with the burglars.
From the Ziv Hospital in Safed where the incident took place, it was reported: "We welcome the police's decision to investigate the incident of the body being taken by the crowd, despite the reinforcement of the medical center by the WISM police forces."
