Three days before the elections and with the polls against it, Donald Trump has put gasoline on his xenophobic speech and declared November 1 as the "Day of Remembrance of Americans Murdered by Illegal Aliens."

The president signed the proclamation this Friday night with a promise to "not rest" until the border is "completely secure" and to guarantee that the construction of the controversial wall with Mexico goes from strength to strength.

"We are going to protect our families from those who seek to harm us," he stressed in his writing.

Neither the Day of the Dead nor the All Saints' Day.

To be part of that commemoration that Trump has created, the murdered citizen must be of United States nationality and not just any murderer, the perpetrator must be a foreigner but, not only that, he must be an undocumented citizen, because it seems to generate a type of pain different from that caused by a murderer with all his papers in order.

“For years, our politicians and our leaders have treated Angel Families [as he refers to those who have lost loved ones to undocumented immigrants] with silence and indifference.

Under my watch, their voices will not fall on deaf ears, the Americans killed by illegal aliens will never be forgotten again, and we will make sure that they have not died in vain, "says the president.

The proclamation, of some 700 words, reviews some of Trump's immigration measures, especially those related to foreigners arriving from Latin America.

Trump arrived at the White House on the back of an incendiary message with immigration, accusing Mexico of sending "rapists" to the United States and using "we are going to build the wall" as one of his campaign slogans.

Now, the Republican regains his speech more.

In the last presidential debate, on October 22, he referred to the undocumented as "murderers and rapists" and regretted that "only those with the lowest IQ appear in court," in reference to people in a situation irregular persons who, once they have entered the United States, go to hearings established by the court to respond to their request for permission, asylum or residence.

Although he always emphasizes that he seeks to curb the irregular arrival of foreigners, his Administration has actually tightened a good part of the legal immigration routes, restricting the criteria for specialized workers with H1-B visas and refugee reception programs.
