After viewing the photos, Victor Huang, officer of the Adoption Department of the Hong Kong Amphibious and Reptile Association, said that the tortoise involved was only a Brazilian tortoise, from the Mississippi River in the United States. It is a common abandoned tortoise species in Hong Kong, with an average life span of 20 to 30 years. The tortoise should be about 3 to 4 years old.
