The polls for the referendum on the draft amendment to the Algerian constitution closed this evening and the vote counting process began.

APS quoted the head of the Independent National Elections Authority, Mohamed Charfi, as saying in a statement: "The voting process on the draft amendment to the constitution has been closed and the vote counting process has begun in accordance with the provisions of the law relating to the electoral system."

Sharafi indicated that the participation rate at the national level in the referendum on the draft amendment to the constitution reached as of midday 13.03 percent, equivalent to 3070912 voters.

Polling stations all over Algeria began this morning the process of voting on the referendum on the draft amendment to the constitution that Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune called for on the 15th of last September.
