A damp meadow was the reason why a Wolfratshauser hang glider got stuck on landing at the Greilinger glider airfield and rolled over.

The pilot was seriously injured.

The passenger was unharmed.

Greiling / Bad Tölz -

"Crash of a small plane" was the alarm message at 16.26.

A large number of fire and rescue services made their way to the former American airfield on the city limits of Tölz.

As it turned out, a Wolfratshauser had had an accident with his kite.

The winch start was not successful

The Tölzer police describe the course of the accident as follows: The 56-year-old had already set off on a tandem flight several times this Saturday around 4.20 p.m. with a winch launch.

However, it did not reach the required height, which is why it disengaged itself after about 200 meters and started to land again.

The wheels of the aircraft got stuck in the meadow, which was still wet from the rain of the previous day.

The kite overturned.

Passenger (56) was unharmed

The pilot suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

He was flown to the Murnau Accident Clinic in the ADAC rescue helicopter.

His passenger, a 56-year-old Tölzer, was unharmed.

According to the police, it is unclear why he did not reach the required altitude.

The investigation is still ongoing.

In addition to the rescue services, the fire brigades Greiling, Reichersbeuern and Bad Tölz as well as the mountain rescue service were on duty.

Property damage: 5000 euros.
