Alleged negligence

: A security guard reported parts of her body found near his home.

As a law-abiding citizen he reported to the police, and found himself in the interrogation room on suspicion of murder.

The lawsuit states that he was interrogated once and released after being found to have nothing to do with the case.

Police later found the killer, Eli Fahima, who brutally murdered a mother and her daughter - Beatrice (62) and Dennis (36) Rodov - and cut them into pieces.

Fahima has been indicted and is serving two cumulative life sentences.

But the security guard was unable to return to the course of his life.

No workplace agreed to accept him, and years later it became clear to him that the reason was that even though the killer had been found and convicted - the case in his case remained open and he was still suspected of murder.

The police and the prosecutor's office simply forgot to close the case.

He is now suing the authorities, and in a lawsuit he filed with the Magistrate's Court in Haifa, he is demanding compensation in the amount of NIS 2.5 million.

"Did not start a family"

"The plaintiff suffered and suffers from a real mental injury that prevented and prevented him from working, made his life difficult, and thus he did not start a family in Israel," the lawsuit states, "Due to the case and after, the plaintiff suffered severe mental and emotional damage, manifested in depression, mistrust, feeling Injustice and repeated thinking about the incident of arrest, search and interrogation The plaintiff lives in a sense of anxiety and mental distress lest he be found guilty in the past of murder, and suffers from bothersome and recurring thoughts about the interrogation incident and non-deletion of the criminal record.

"We will respond in court"

"Also, following the events, the plaintiff's health condition deteriorated and he suffers from high blood pressure and changes in heart function."

Attorneys Ariel Yom-Tov and Milena Gordin, representing the security guard, said in response: "The law enforcement authorities should act with increased caution, especially since this is a matter of personal law.

In the case before us there was a double failure, both in the police and in the prosecution.

As a result of this terrible omission, a person's life was ruined.

The terrible thing about this Kafkaesque story is that it is a man from the settlement, a man who did nothing.

Today it is, tomorrow it can be anyone else. "

The State Attorney's Office responded: "The lawsuit has not yet been received. When it is received, we will respond in court as usual."

The Israel Police stated: "As requested, we will respond to the court as usual."
