The death toll from the earthquake that occurred yesterday in the Aegean sea off the Turkish city of Izmir, and its intensity reached 7 on the Richter scale, to 51 people.
The Anatolia News Agency quoted Vice President of the Turkish regime Fuad Aktay as saying that the number of victims had risen to 51 dead.
In turn, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Department reported that 896 people were injured in the earthquake.
It confirmed that the region witnessed 850 aftershocks, 40 of which were above 4 degrees.
A previous toll indicated that 35 people were killed and 880 others were injured in the earthquake, which led to the collapse and damage of 17 buildings in Izmir, in addition to the killing of two people and injuring eight others on the Greek island of Samos, east of the Aegean.
