In the Loisachhalle, the program consisted of pure improvisation for the first time.

- What these two guys from Waldram offer musically is incomparable.

Although, they haven't been boys for a long time.

The Mayrhofer brothers Gregor and Raphael are fully grown top musicians - who gave a glamorous, purely improvised concert in the Loisachhalle on Thursday evening, in which they strongly involved the audience, according to the title "Imbrothersation is trumps".

The concert was sold out - and for the time being the last far and wide before the upcoming lockdown on Monday.

Impromptu opera and musical journey

“We haven't prepared anything, then nothing can go wrong”, promised Raphael Mayrhofer, the drummer with the long dreadlocks.

What followed can best be described as a colorful impromptu concert with a variety of rhythmic elements.

"Schnick, Schnack, Schnuck - who starts?" Was the question.

That was open before every piece.

But then it went off.

The audience clapped, hummed and sang - in spite of the masks - and was allowed to help shape the evening, for example on the theme of an impromptu opera and the leitmotif of the overture from shouted names and terms.

Artists and listeners embarked on a musical journey from Milan via Martinique to Brazil.

The audience sings along - despite the masks

The picture changed abruptly when Raphael Mayrhofer used beatboxing - sibilants, pops and tongue snaps - to create a spherical sound to which his brother Gregor put a melody on the piano that was reminiscent of the composition of Gershwin and Co.

The internationally active conductor, pianist and composer did not just use the keys of his piano, but also handled the inside of the grand piano.

This resulted in tones that were reminiscent of Caribbean steel drums.

The two top-class improvisation players played all their trumps, they cannot be copied, compared and irretrievable.

A spontaneous concert that will not happen so quickly - Corona restrictions or not.
