Judge rejects Republican attempt to nullify 127,000 votes in contested Texas

A federal judge on Monday rejected an effort by Republican activists to discard almost 127,000 votes cast in Houston, Texas, by

drive-thru

(from the car), due to measures to mitigate coronavirus infections.

The votes were cast in Harris County, the most populous in Texas and with a Democratic majority.

A record 1.4 million early votes have already been cast in that county.

Texas is one of the most crucial states in these elections and

delivers 38 electoral votes

Last week, the state was no longer considered safe for Republicans and was listed as a contested state by the election analysis website Cook Political Report, with less than a week left before Election Day.
