Leaning on the mayors, Alberto Fernández returns to the suburbs

Almost like a Nestorist revival, Alberto Ángel Fernández has been maintaining an agenda of descents to the suburbs, leaning on the Peronist mayors,

Like the former president who maintained a daily and direct relationship with the Buenos Aires mayors, who was his chief of staff -now become President-

, where the Kirchnerist commands Jorge Ferraresi.

All this began on September 9, when, in the midst of the police rebellion, Alberto Fernández met with more than thirty mayors.

Then there were other meetings: a delivery of Procrear homes in Ezeiza and another in San Antonio de Areco, where that time, there was a coffee and sandwiches meeting in between, to talk about politics.

That day the mayor of Florencio Varela, Andrés Watson, a hot district in these times of coronavirus infections and insecurity, joined those events.

In fact, "Juanchi" Zabaleta is one of the mayors closest to the President and a man of confidence who maintains permanent contact with the other communal chiefs.

But the most intense day, perhaps, was Friday when in Lomas de Zamora -after an act on Security with the delivery of patrol cars-, the host Martín Insaurralde organized a barbecue in the municipal barbecue area and hosted all the tribes: from the President and his ministers up to Governor Axel Kicillof, mayors like Mariano Cascallares and heads of

That barbecue is the same one where Alberto Fernández met a year ago, a day before Cristina Fernández nominated him as a candidate for president.

Today's President recalled the situation because at that barbecue, he couldn't say anything about the announcement the day after: “Wado asked me what I wanted to be, I told him nothing.

When he insisted, I told him that I wanted to be an ambassador in Madrid.

The difference this year is that

, in the midst of the icy moment of Cristina's son with the Fernández administration, as demonstrated by his absence at the inauguration ceremony of the statue of Néstor Kirchner in the CCK and of his disregard of the floor in the session of Deputies for the Budget, where he did not defend the official project as head of the block.
