The police advise dog owners to keep their eyes open on their walks.
An animal has eaten something in the area of the Loisach-Isar Canal that could have been poison bait.
Wolfratshausen - A 64-year-old woman drew the police's attention to possible dog bait in Waldram on Sunday.
The woman from Wolfratshausen was out and about with her mixed breed dog in the Loisach-Isar Canal around 8:30 a.m.
Suddenly the animal ate something by the roadside.
The woman suspected a deliberately placed bait made of minced meat and bacon and immediately went to the Starnberg veterinary clinic.
Her four-legged friend was treated there.
"The mixed breed dog was not harmed by the Wolfratshauserin 's quick reaction," reported the police.
The officials have not yet been able to conclusively clarify whether the meat bait was actually poisoned.
They therefore advise dog owners to keep their eyes open on their walks.
The police inspection is investigating a suspected offense under the Animal Welfare Act.
The office receives information on 0 81 71/4 21 10.
