The approval of this new procedure, for alleged acts of corruption which allegedly took place in 2014, was announced by the first vice-president of the unicameral Parliament, Luis Valdez.
Martin Vizcarra had escaped a first impeachment attempt in September, his opponents not having managed to gather in Parliament the number of votes necessary to overthrow him.
