Shootings in Vienna: "We will not give up anything", assures Macron

REACTIONS - The European Union "strongly condemned" a "cowardly act" after the attack in Austria leaving at least two dead and several injured.


Emmanuel Macron spoke Monday evening with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, to whom he

"expressed his total solidarity, his support and offered France's help if necessary"

, after the attack in Vienna, making at least two dead including an assailant.

“We French people share the shock and grief of the Austrian people (...).

After France, a friendly country is attacked.

This is our Europe.

Our enemies must know who they are dealing with.

We will not give up anything ”, tweeted the Head of State in French and then in German.

The Austrian Chancellor condemned Monday evening

"a disgusting terrorist attack".

"We will never allow ourselves to be intimidated by terrorism and we will fight these attacks with all our means,"

he wrote on Twitter, expressing his thoughts for

"the victims, the injured and their loved ones".

The European Union has

the fatal shootings, an act described as

in a tweet by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
