The experience of the Solhi Al-Wadi Institute for Music was a guest of the scientific conference held under the title “The Future of Arab Music ... After the Crisis” within the activities of the 29th Arab Music Festival organized by the Egyptian Opera House.

The experience of the Solhi El-Wadi Institute came through the presentation of a research paper on the Institute's experience in organizing and archiving concerts and activities in technology in light of the Corona pandemic, prepared by the administrative official of the Institute, Abeer Al-Jabi.

In a statement to SANA, Al-Jabi indicated that she tried, through the research paper, to answer many questions that are at the heart of the interest in the educational, artistic and musical situation of children and adolescents, and the importance of archiving and documenting activities because of their role in the educational process in conservatories and the benefit of the concerts presented by the institute via the Internet In light of the Corona pandemic, with the aim of creating a new educational role.

Al-Jabi reviewed the stages of the development of the musical educational process at the Solhi Valley Institute during the 50 years of its establishment and supplying large musical groups with capable cadres. She also spoke in detail about the goals of the institute and its renewed vision and the most prominent stations in its career of concerts, activities and competitions that simulate international experiences as well as the institute’s experience in keeping pace with technological development.

Al-Jabi presented the four concerts of the institute’s students via the Internet during the response to the Corona pandemic, namely the concerts of the Arab Music Orchestra, the Classical Music Orchestra, the Jazz Orchestra and the Guitar Band. At the same time, it is important to get acquainted with the activities of higher and intermediate music institutes and to communicate with each other to benefit from experiences and learn about the educational and training situation therein, and to cooperate to hold concerts and to preserve our musical heritage for generations.

The Conference on the Future of Arab Music aims to discuss future visions of Arab music after the Corona pandemic, which has radically changed all life practices through 4 axes: future visions of Arab musical creativity, future visions in the performance and presentation of Arab music, future prospects for teaching Arab music and future visions of the problems of Arab musical heritage.
