It's a sigh of relief!
Opponents of the project for an industrial pigsty with 6,000 pigs in Ossun, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, are finally breathing.
"We are very happy, Fipso is giving up on this project which would have disfigured our village"
, rejoices José Astorga, president of the No Porcharan Association.
This collective has been fighting for two years against the establishment of this pig farm located under the prevailing winds, on the heights of this town of 2,400 inhabitants.
"Our fight continues and we will remain vigilant on the project which will replace the site where this disproportionate investment was planned and synonymous with pollution."
