Abstract doctrine is not limited to plastic art, but is one of the basic schools of expression in the hands of writers and poets, as explained by researcher and poet Mahmoud Naqsho during a lecture held by the branch of the Arab Writers Union in Homs.
In his lecture, Naqsho touched on the concept of abstraction, indicating that this literary doctrine means deviating from the text of nature, which is a cloudy writing in poetry and prose in a way that differs from the determinants, shapes and details and is based on dispensing with all that is unnecessary in any work of art, whether it is an architect, a poem, a novel or a painting .
Naqsho pointed out that abstraction is a search for the essence and the creation of a world of meanings, a mental analysis defined by the Scottish "Dugald Astorat" as dividing what we find of complex meanings in order to simplify the topic we deal with by research and focus on the particles in order to reach the totals and select the underlying meanings.
