Cost 7-digit amount to set up a platform to contact students, alumni and employers

HKBU's online interactive platform "BUhub" cost a 7-digit amount to set up. The service targets are mainly students, alumni, employers and faculty of the school. The main purpose is to connect the university community and provide job vacancies and support for platform users.

The features and goals of "BUhub" include assisting alumni and students in job hunting, encouraging students and alumni to interact with each other through the platform, and disseminating information on university activities. The main "job vacancies" function of the platform cooperates with about 11 recruitment websites. Local websites include the University Joint School Employment Information Statistics Database (JIJIS), JobsDB, CPjobs and Recruit, etc., and also provide links to job vacancies on overseas and Chinese job search websites.

Employers can also publish job vacancies on the platform themselves and directly receive applications from platform users.

Provide more than 30,000 full-time and part-time vacancies and more than 2,000 internships

Li Huiyi, Director of Alumni Affairs Office, pointed out that the platform currently integrates more than 30,000 full-time and part-time job vacancies and more than 2,000 internship opportunities, of which about 60 are local positions and 4 are overseas or mainland positions.

She said that the proportion of vacancies in information and communication technology, Internet and engineering related categories is relatively high.

The vice-principal of HKBU, Zhou Weili, estimates that many graduates this year are still looking for jobs, and it is also expected that the graduates in the next two years may have difficulties and challenges in job hunting.

The platform also contains the alumni address book. By default, only the name and subject are displayed. Users can choose whether to display more information, such as occupation and company background. Users can also communicate through private messages on the platform.
