since November 2nd and the associated measures mean considerable restrictions for many industries.

Also for cultural workers and artists who can hardly or no longer exercise their profession.

Under the motto “Without us, it'll be quiet”, the Isar-Loisach (KIL) cultural association followed the nationwide protest call by the Munich Philharmonic on Monday and set a creative, albeit unusual, exclamation point.

The scenery in the ambush culture stage was eerie: cobwebs stretched across the drums, electric guitar and bass.

Empty wine bottles and glasses lay on the abandoned tables.

Words or even music could not be heard.

The film producer Thorsten Thane and sound engineer Marius Hammerschmied broadcast this gloomy vision of the future via live stream on the Internet.

The video can be seen on the ambush's Youtube channel.

In a press conference, Assunta Tammelleo explained the purpose of the action.

“The world will be without a sound if it is not allowed to play, dance, film, listen, watch, draw, paint and be amazed”, explained the KIL chairwoman.

Hans-Peter Huber, member of the Münsingen brass band Tromposaund and concert organizer, agrees.

“Bavarian customs are pointless without music groups,” he states.

Whether the livestream recordings organized by the Isar-Loisach cultural association since March are a sensible alternative remains a matter of dispute in the art scene.

For example, the cabaret artist Helmut Schleich, who is known from radio and television, recently canceled an appearance on the cultural stage with the note that he could not earn anything from it.

Colleagues such as Christian Springer, on the other hand, knew how to use this forum, especially since the recordings can still be seen on the Internet and can also be used for advertising purposes.

Tammelleo wants to continue the livestream series in any case, even if their costs can hardly be covered.

Because the audience, who were admitted to the Kulturbühne in small numbers before the second lockdown, can make donations for the musicians and technicians on a voluntary basis.

"Unfortunately, I sometimes experienced that only half of the 25 registered visitors showed up," regrets the ambush hostess.

For some concerts, the donation does not even exceed the 100 euro limit.

“The depression has not yet found its way into us,” says the 59-year-old fiercely.

With the opening of the art tower at Wolfratshauser Schwankl-Eck a few months ago, the KIL created another opportunity to perform.

“But we couldn't have opened the whole thing at a worse time,” regrets lighting technician Günter Klügl.

Giving up is out of the question for him and other KIL members even in the second lockdown crisis.

"Doing nothing is not an option for us," said Assunta Tammelleo.
