Socialist MEP Pierre Larrouturou is an idealist.
Long before Martine Aubry's 35 hours, he was campaigning in the 1990s in France for the four-day week.
Now rapporteur for the budget to the European Parliament, he began the third hunger strike of his career eight days ago, to demand more money for Europe via a
"speculation tax".
With a lot of events on his Facebook page, he is mobilizing to defend his idea, in the context of complex negotiations, on the next EU budget.
"There is something obscene when we are told that there is not enough money for health, for the climate and for jobs, when the financial markets are at an unprecedented level" , he
denounces.
