With the vast majority of states defined, the hopes of Donald Trump and Joe Biden are reduced to a few million votes left in six entities.

The historic presidential election will have a photography finale in overtime sparked by high numbers of early and mail-in votes.

The Democrat has taken Wisconsin, while Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan and Arizona remain as the final battlegrounds for Democrats and Republicans.

The big cities in these entities, with a greater inclination for Biden, could give the candidate the necessary push to achieve the 270 votes of the electoral college.

The Trump campaign, however, has already advanced that it will require recounts in the territories where it loses by a handful of votes.

Here we tell you about the headcount in these vital regions for the next president of the United States.

Electoral College Votes

:

Joseph R. Biden: 237

Donald Trump: 213

Georgia

Donald Trump has the upper hand in this state.

The president adds 2,389,867 votes (50.3%) compared to 2,303,880 (48.5%) of his opponent.

The hope of the Democratic campaign is set on the 7% left to count.

They expect in this number a great support coming from the large urban areas of the state, which seemed lost for Biden on Tuesday night.

The boost from early and mail-in votes counted in big Democratic strongholds like Atlanta (which has a black population exceeding 50%), Savannah and Columbus may lead the former vice president to victory.

This would ensure the 16 votes of the Electoral College.

Georgia's secretary of state said this morning that the remaining 200,000 votes will be counted throughout the day.

For Biden to win here, he must win six of every ten votes yet to be counted.

Pennsylvania

The State is the great loot at stake.

Represents 20 electoral votes.

Both candidates know of its importance and it was noticed in the closing of the campaign, where both were focused during the last hours.

Trump won it in 2016 and it is vital to retain him this year.

At the moment, it maintains the advantage with 3,063,634 votes (53.4%) compared to 2,599,924 (45.3%).

A little over a million votes remains to be counted.

The local authorities, from the Democratic party, have set a deadline until Friday to finalize their calculation.

However, they have also suggested that the result may come on Thursday given the great pressure that exists for the presidential race to be defined.

Biden said Tuesday night in his speech that this entity will win.

Nevada

Despite representing only six electoral votes, the entity can help tip the balance in a close contest.

The top two urban counties have rallied in support of Biden.

The rural area is for Trump.

It is the entity with the most lagging vote, only 86%.

At the moment the democrat is ahead by the minimum.

Biden beats Trump by just under 8,000 votes: 588.252 votes compared to 580,605 for the Republican.

The final results will be ready on Thursday.

Michigan

Donald Trump's lawyers are trying to stop the counting of votes in this state.

The President has raised the suspicion of fraud particularly on this traditionally Democratic Midwest entity until 2016. “Wow, it seems Michigan has now found the necessary ballots to remove a wonderful young man from the Senate ... Terrible is happening! ”, the president wrote to suggest that new votes have appeared when in reality what happens is that they continue to be counted.

Michigan has 6% of the total votes to be counted.

Biden currently has an advantage with 49.5% of the votes (2,637,292).

Trump is close at 48.8% (2,599,942).

Arizona

Some television networks considered the race in this typically Republican state over.

If Biden conquers this entity, it would be the first surprise of the election, endorsed by a Latino anti-Trump vote and by Republicans disenchanted with the current president in Phoenix.

Biden has 51% of the votes (1,410,977) compared to 47.6% (1,317,468) of the current occupant of the White House.

Unlike what happens in other battles, Republicans hope to be the beneficiaries with the vote that remains to be counted and that they believe can close the contest.

A spokesman for the president's campaign said on Wednesday morning on the conservative Fox News that the state would win by 40,000 votes.
