Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: 43 patient transfers to other regions since mid-October

Eight new patients from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes were transferred Wednesday, November 4 by medical plane to Pays de la Loire, bringing to 43 the number of transfers made since mid-October to relieve the intensive care services in the region, particularly affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

On Wednesday, these patients from Lyon, Bourg-en-Bresse and Saint-Étienne were evacuated to Nantes, Saint-Nazaire and Angers aboard an A400M military aircraft, the Regional Health Agency told AFP on Thursday ( ARS).

In total since mid-October, 43 transfers have been made from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to New Aquitaine (23), Pays de la Loire (18) and Brittany (2).

in coordination with the crisis unit of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health

in anticipation to free up places in intensive care and prevent any tension and saturation of establishments

organized with regard, on the one hand, to the situation observed daily through the indicators and in particular the occupancy rate of resuscitation beds in health establishments;

Indicators on the rise

In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the indicators are still on the rise, making this region the most affected by the second epidemic wave.

According to the latest figures available, we are at an incidence rate of 866 per 100,000 inhabitants and a number of hospitalized patients which reaches 5,888 people including 717 in intensive care or intensive care, for a capacity of nearly 1,000 beds

", indicated an ARS spokesperson at AFP.

The highest incidence rates are still recorded in Loire and Rhône, followed by Haute-Loire, Ain and Isère.

The Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL), a set of 14 public hospitals, said on Tuesday that the cumulative total of Covid patients admitted on November 3 (729) exceeded the peak of patients recorded during the first wave (727 patients on April 7 ).

In addition, 25 inter-departmental transfers were also carried out from establishments in the Rhône, Loire, Drôme, to Puy de Dôme, Drôme and Savoie, according to the ARS.
