Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today (Thursday) with Eisenhower Makaka, Malawi's Foreign Minister, who is visiting Israel.

"It's good to see you here in Jerusalem," the prime minister said at the beginning of the meeting.

"This is a great day, thanks to your decision to establish an embassy in Jerusalem, which is our eternal capital from the days of King David. Therefore, we welcome you as a friend, we welcome Malawi as friends. We have always had a great relationship - and they will be even better."

So you understand that I attach immense importance to our relations with African countries, with your country as well. Only recently have we established relations with Sudan and the Czech Republic. Ed, "he added.

"It joins our effort in Africa, it is a great effort. We look forward to strengthening the relationship between Israel and Malawi in agriculture, health, cyber defense, in any area suitable for cooperation. I welcome you in this spirit of cooperation and friendship."
