The Government warns that the ATP program will end at the end of the year

In the midst of the economic crisis exacerbated by the restrictions imposed to try to combat the coronavirus, the Government warns that the continuity of the ATP program that subsidizes companies is not planned, beyond the end of the year.

This was said by the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, who also announced that the idea is that the Emergency Family Income (IFE) be "absorbed by other social programs or by new jobs."

Over the months, the Government narrowed the universe of companies to which it provided the subsidy.

Days ago, and after a meeting of the economic cabinet, it was defined that the ATP 7 assistance program will be granted, in the form of salary assistance, to critical sectors of the economy.

For the rest of the sectors, the possibility of accessing credits at subsidized rates will continue, but assistance will no longer be given for companies to pay workers' wages.

Regarding the last meetings with representatives of the business sector, Kulfas insisted on the need to "have an economic and social agreement and make it clear that there is a state that leads and that production is not the same as speculation."

Kulfas also asked him about the imminent arrival of a new IMF mission.

The official assured that the government will not accept possible requests for fiscal adjustment from the Monetary Fund.
