Former Turkish Minister of Economy and leader of the Democratic and Progress Party Ali Babacan confirmed that the President of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, through his practices and uniqueness of power destroyed all state institutions.
"After the constitutional amendments imposed by Erdogan on the Turkish people in April, he took advantage of the new situation and took control of all state institutions and agencies, the most important of which is the judiciary, and he used this to get rid of all his opponents, especially in the media," Babacan said at a meeting of his party in Siirt, eastern Turkey.
Babacan stressed that Erdogan “has monopolized power and imposed himself on the Turkish state and nation, which contradicts the most basic standards of democracy and human rights,” noting that “through these policies Erdogan has destroyed all state institutions and the time has come to get rid of this system and return to the parliamentary system.”
Babacan stressed, "the need for coordination and cooperation between all democratic opposition parties and forces to prevent Erdogan from continuing with his current policies that have brought the country to a dead end at the internal and external levels, including the serious economic and financial crisis hitting the country."
"It seems clear that Turkey can no longer tolerate Erdogan and his dangerous policies," he added.
Last April, Human Rights Watch and 23 international human rights organizations condemned the Turkish regime's continued arbitrary and unjustified detention of the majority of its opponents, including journalists and human rights and political activists, calling on this regime to release them immediately due to the danger of the Coronavirus outbreak in its prisons.
