The total number of new infections with the Coronavirus in the countries of the European continent has reached more than 12 million so far, according to a census conducted by AFP based on figures published by the national health authorities in these countries.
And Agence France-Presse reported that Europe is the most affected region in the world in terms of injuries, followed by Latin America and the Caribbean, 11.5 million injuries, and Asia, 10.9 million.
About half of the injuries were recorded in Europe in four countries: Russia with one million and 733440 injuries, France with one million and 601367, Spain one million and 306,316 cases, and the United Kingdom with one million and 123,197 injuries.
Europe has become the epicenter of the epidemic in recent weeks, just as it was in March and April.
Since the beginning of October, Europe has recorded the highest daily number of injuries among the regions of the world, as last week it counted more than 280,000 injuries per day, which is more than half of the total number of injuries in the world, "525 thousand daily injuries on average."
The pandemic continues to spread rapidly, with a 17% increase in the number of cases in the last seven days in Europe compared to the number recorded in the previous week.
As for the deaths, so far, Europe has recorded about 300,000 deaths.
