The 1986 world champion captain in Mexico turned 60 on October 30, the day on which he appeared publicly on the gymnastics court to direct against Patronato for the first date of the Argentine league.

He did not have a good demeanor and needed help to walk.

Two days later, he was hospitalized in a medical center in the Buenos Aires city of La Plata, because he suffered from dehydration, anemia and a depressive picture.

There a routine tomography detected a subdural hematoma, which is the accumulation of blood between the cerebral cortex of the brain and the dura, a membrane that is attached to the inside of the skull, something generally caused by a blow to the head.

He was transferred to the Olivos clinic, where on Tuesday night he underwent a successful operation.
