The defeat of the current president of the United States, Donald Trump, opens a new stage in

a career marked by millionaire debt and pending legal cases

, which could take a turn when he loses the immunity that, until now, he was granted to reside in the White House .

Up to

six Trump aides have been convicted during his tenure

, from his former attorney Michael Cohen to his first campaign manager Paul Manafort for crimes such as tax evasion and obstruction of justice that could put the outgoing president on the ropes. .

During his tenure, the Republican has only faced the impeachment process in Congress, from which he was successful at the beginning of the year thanks to the votes of his fellow party members in the Senate.

But his defeat at the polls changes the scene.

These are some of the fronts that Trump faces:

Obstruction of justice

Russian meddling in the 2016 election made thousands of headlines since Trump took office.

After years of investigation, special counsel Robert Mueller told Congress that he was

"not" exonerating him from any crime

of obstruction of justice, for which he could be prosecuted when he leaves the White House.

In his report, Mueller wrote that he could not impeach Trump while he was president because he had no evidence of an alleged collaboration between the Kremlin and his 2016 campaign team, but stressed that if he had been "sure" that the president "clearly did not he had committed a crime of obstruction of justice ”, then he would have said so.

Election funding violation

It was one of the first scandals that splashed his Presidency:

the payment of $ 130,000 to the porn actress Stormy Daniel

s, Trump's lover, who received that amount so that she would not speak about the romance during the 2016 election campaign.

First Trump denied everything, then he admitted that he made the payment with money from his pocket and finally the justice sentenced the president's then lawyer, Michael Cohen, to prison for violating the laws of financing of electoral campaigns, in addition to tax evasion.

Later, Cohen sued the Trump Organization and said he regretted working for the president, whom he accused of being a "racist" and a "con man."

Bank fraud

It is one of the investigations that is still ongoing and

that worries Trump the most.

The New York State Attorney's Office has been collecting data from your tax returns and bank transactions for some time.

Investigators suspect that both the president and his companies have committed bank fraud by hiding the true state of their businesses to apply for loans and insurance.

In fact, there are banks that did not work with him for this reason.

Trump has tried to stop the process in court without success, since a hypothetical presidential pardon would not exempt him from this alleged crime.

Millionaire debt and bad accounts

Trump is the only president in decades who has refused to release his tax returns.

According to The New York Times, he is "personally responsible" for

a debt of $ 300 million

that is due in the next four years.

If the debts assumed by their businesses are added to that amount, it would amount to 900 million.

Battle for taxes

The Revenue Service has questioned the legitimacy of a

$ 72.9 million refund

that Trump claimed and received from that institution after declaring huge losses.

Trump reportedly also did not pay income taxes in 10 of the last 15 years for reporting losses, and in 2016 he paid only $ 750 in federal taxes.
