The number of exporters of goods from the country increased by 6.2% during the years 2019-2015 and the share of large exporters in total exports decreased from 24.6% to 21.2% today, according to data on trade in goods for 2019 published yesterday by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). 



the data shows that at that time there was an increase in the concentration of importers in all size categories. in 2019 the volume of exports in value terms declined by 5.6%, with a corresponding increase in the amount of 1.1% exporters compared with the previous year.



in contrast, the volume of imports rose a tenth of a percent, but the number of importers has risen 21.1%, compared to the previous year. The five largest importers (as a percentage of total imports to Israel) will import 17% of total imports in 2019. While large exporters, employing 250 or more employed persons, were responsible for 55.2% of total exports, compared with 52.5% a year. Before. 



In some industries, such as wholesale and retail trade, small employers, employing less than 10 workers, dominated the field with exports of 57.4% of the total exports of those industries.

Imports in those industries are dominated by medium and large employers of 50-249 workers.

In 2019, the main import industries were: manufacturing and manufacturing 36.4% of total imports (similar to 2018), wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles - 50.5% of the value of imports compared to 50.7% in 2018.

In contrast, 98.2% of the exports of these industries were exported by exporters employing 250 or more employed and accounted for 26.3% of the number of exporters in these industries.
